Maral Rahmanzade
Born July 23, 1916 in Baku, Azerbaijan
1930-1933 – Studied at the A. Azimzadeh State Art College in Baku
1940 – Graduated from V. I. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute
1964 – Awarded the title of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan
1965 – Received the Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic
1996 – Awarded the Order of Glory
Maral Rahmanzadeh’s works have been exhibited in several foreign countries, including Italy, Japan, Australia, Belgium, Syria, and Lebanon. Her work is housed in The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow; National Art Museum of Azerbaijan; Azerbaijan State Picture Gallery; the Baku Museum of Modern Art; and in private collections in several foreign countries.
Maral Rahmanzadeh died in Baku on March 18, 2008.
